Croatia is Heaven

One year ago, I've seen on Pinterest, a picture of waterfalls in Croatia : Plitvice National park. I thought "Ho my God... we do have such an amazing landscape in Europe, I have to go there one day".
And here I am !
Amazing park of clear blue lakes and waterfalls... Heaven !!

Me and my bad luck, had to pick the only day of august 2013 that wasn't sunny and get bitten by a wasp, but even that, the visit was amazing, and it was as beautiful as I was expected.

So, if you too, love Pinterest, and have already seen photos of the park, or if you just plan to go visit Croatia, and want to spend a day in Plitvice, here is how I organized my day, what was the best organization I could have expected for an August day :

First of all, go WITHOUT tour (it's expensive, and you get to the park at 11am) : I left Zagreb by the 5:45am bus to Plitvice. I got there at 8:10am (the park open at 7am in summer). There was just a few people, no line, and the possibility to enjoy the walk around the lake without anybody around.
But I can tell you, when I left at 12pm, the entrances were crowwwwwded, a 100meters line of people waiting to get a ticket !!
That's my Tips :
Take the bus at the bus terminal (easily accessible by tram), 93 Kunas. It will drop you at the second entrance (ST2).
DON'T buy your return in advance (the guy will try to sale you a more expensive one)!!
From ST2, take the little train/bus to ST3, then walk down along the lakes, then take the boat to ST1, and keep walking until the big waterfall, and come back walking to ST2 (or take the train/bus). (This is the H tour, more or less 4h).
Once you are back to ST2, just wait for the bus, in front of where, the bus dropped you earlier.
ATTENTION : Last bus is at 12:50pm, then, start again from 4pm to 8pm (no bus between 12:50pm to 4pm). You can buy your ticket in the bus.

I definitely recommend this tour. It is pretty cheap, it's a great experience, easy walk, and when we use to know Europe only as an old continent which has a lot of culture, sculpture, churches and castles, it is great to realize that there is also, amazing natural beauty !!
